The Full Moon chart for June 14 (click here to see the article and the chart) presented us with a perplexing contradiction. The Sun and Moon were aspect both wish-fulfilling Neptune and restrictive Saturn. Evidence of this astrological contradiction came when Congress passed a historic gun control bill and, on the same day, the Supreme Court issued a ruling that made controlling the proliferation of firearms more difficult.
I also said that the really important stuff would be happening behind closed doors. It was from behind the closed doors of the Supreme Court that the big news of this lunation period emerged. That was the striking down of Roe vs. Wade. The fact that we all knew this was coming didn’t make the event any less impactful. That impact is going to be felt for years to come.
This ruling presented us with a second contradiction. While the Supreme Court that Donald Trump largely created was redefining the status of women in the United States, the Select Committee on Jan. 6 was revealing how Donald Trump tried to subvert the Constitution and hold on the presidency. This was also a manifestation of the trine between Mercury and Pluto in the June 14 chart. Secrets were revealed and those secrets were both dark and unsettling.
The New Moon chart for June 26 (click on New Moon to see the chart) might give us some respite from all these harrowing events. I say “might” because this chart is also loaded with contradictions.
During the yesterday's hearing by the Select Committee on Jan. 6 one name kept cropping up over and over. That was John Eastman. Dr. Eastman was a professor of law at Chapman University. (He resigned from that position last year.) He is also the founding director of a conservative “think tank.” Previous to the Trump administration he seems to have been a highly respected expert on constitutional law. However, his recent service that administration has cast some doubt on that.
A partial horoscope for Eastman (unfortunately, we do not have a time of birth) looks quite positive. (For Eastman’s partial horoscope, see below.) His Sun in Taurus is part of a Grand Trine with Jupiter and Pluto and Jupiter and Pluto both sextile his natal Neptune, forming a “kite” configuration. What this indicates is that Eastman's road to success has been smoothed by incidents of good fortune. Of course, that is no way diminishes his accomplishments.
The May 30 New Moon chart (click here to see the article and the chart) was a strange bird. It had the Sun and the Moon in the Twelfth House, indicating things happening behind closed doors, and Mars conjunct Jupiter in the Tenth House which seemed to promise dramatic action. As it happened, we got a bit of both.
Both the tenuous compromise in the Senate on a gun control bill and the first two televised hearings of the House Jan. 6 committee came out of intense wrangling behind closed doors. And yet, they both reflect at least the promise of a dramatic shift in the country’s thinking. Of course, the May 30 chart also had Neptune in the Tenth House, which can describe unfulfilled promises. The promises of these two events are both still a long way from becoming a reality.
In my analysis of the Mary 30 chart, I worried that the fact that Mars and Jupiter were conjunct in Aries indicated more mass shootings. We did see such incidents in Maryland and other places. However, the most striking display of violence came out the Jan 6 Committee’s recordings of the insurrectionist who took over the Capitol Building. I was concerned that the violence indicated by this conjunction might be directed toward figures of authority. Instead, it was figures of authority who provided us with images of violence.
