Labron James: Beating the Odds
A few months ago, in a tweet, I predicted that this would not be a great year for Labron James. I based this forecast on the fact that his Sun (at 8 degrees of Capricorn) is caught up in the ongoing Uranus-Pluto square. This is a powerful and disruptive aspect and I felt that it would impact him in a negative way.
That prediction, quite obviously, turned out to be wrong. James’ team (the Miami Heat) became the NBA champions Thursday night and the play of their superstar small forward is a major factor in this success.
In my defense, I was not working with a complete chart. We do not have a birth time for Labron James. It is quite likely that if we had a complete horoscope we would see something very positive working on one of the angles of his chart. The secret to James’ success in managing this explosive aspect, and beating the astrological odds, is his Capricorn Sun and the trine between Mars in and Pluto in his natal horoscope. This combination gives James tremendous focus and self-discipline. The physical talent of Labron James is well-documented but he also has a unique ability to capitalize on that talent in the face of factors that would distract and derail a less determined individual.
This capacity for unrelenting focus has allowed James to keep the disruptive qualities of Pluto square Uranus out of his game. He has resisted the pressure and negativity of having Pluto on his Sun and the erratic selfishness of Uranus squaring his Sun. It may be that these influences are playing out elsewhere in his life but, as Capricorn’s are apt to do, he’s managed to his business (playing basketball) on a steady and successful course.
