Following The Moon: Mar. 21, 2023

Even though the placement of the Sun and Moon in the Full Moon chart for Mar. 7 indicated quietude, I had predicted a fair amount of noise. (Click here to see the article and the chart.) We got that with a couple of bank failures early in the lunation period. That had a lot of people worried about a worldwide economic crisis but, at present anyway, those concerns seem to be waning.

The other big news was the announcement that ex-President Donald Trump was about to be arrested. That hasn’t happened yet and, if it does happen, it will be at the beginning of the next lunation period. With that in mind, it comes as not surprise that that New Moon chart for Mar. 21 is chock full of drama. (Click on New Moon to see the chart.)

Technically, the Sun and Moon in this chart are once again in Cadent houses, as they have been in the last two lunation charts. However, in this chart they are actually conjunct the Midheaven. That immediately marks this as a powerful lunation. Then we have the fact that the Moon is the ruler of the Ascendant, with adds another layer of importance. Obviously something big is cooking with this Full Moon Chart.

Of course, if you’re going to cook, you need a flame. That is provided by Mars which is square the Sun and Moon. Mars is also square Neptune, which adds a pinch of crazy to the stew. Trump has called for protests if he is arrested and these aspects indicate that he will get them and that violence is a distinct possibility.

The fact that Mars is in the Twelfth House is also worrisome. We’ve grown used to angry people protesting this or that and, after Jan. 6, 2021, we’ve even learned to accept a certain level of craziness. However, the placement of Mars in the Twelfth describes hidden enemies. The threats that really matter may well come at us from out of the shadows.

Of course, it isn’t all about Donald Trump. There are still economic concerns. In this chart we have Saturn in the Eight House, which deals with investments and “other people’s money.” This could indicate that the rumblings caused by the bank failures earlier in the month could continue. Since Saturn is trine Mars, an outbreak of violence could also lead to a downward slide in the stock market.

In the midst of all this worry we have Jupiter happily seated in the Tenth House of this New Moon chart. The could mean that, despite what promises to be a topsy-turvy two weeks, the administration (or some other figures of authority) will come out of it looking pretty good. Of course, the fact that Jupiter forms a close semi-sextile to Uranus indicates that our leadership will be dealing with their own topsy-turvy situations.

There can be no doubt that this New Moon chart forecasts an eventful two weeks. It could also be a loud, messy and possibly violent two weeks, with a few surprises thrown in. (Uranus is semi-square the Sun and Moon.) But we can take comfort in the fact, with Jupiter is in the Tenth House, no matter how wild things get, normalcy will survive.
