Following the Moon: Nov. 8, 2022
The New Moon chart for Oct. 25, 2022 featured Mars square Neptune. (Click here to see the article and the chart.) I had said the Mars tends to bring the “crazy” out of Neptune and, of course, it did. The attack on Paul Pelosi, the husband of Nancy Pelosi, was carried out by a crazed man armed with a hammer who somehow thought that if he could break the knees of Speaker Pelosi, the world would be made right again. When that plan fell through, he bashed in the skull of the 82 year-old Mr. Pelosi.
That was Mars square Neptune, but the Oct. 25 chart also featured Pluto on the I.C. The last time we had Pluto on the I.C. we had a devastating hurricane. This time Pluto brought us a hurricane of hatred. The attack on Paul Pelosi was recast by the Republican faithful, who believe that all Democrats are sexual predators, as a sexual assignation gone wrong, while Democrats cast Republicans as SS soldiers intent on instituting their version of “Gilead” from “The Handmaid’s Tale.” A lot of this, of course, is election year politics, but it’s election year politics on LSD, (or on Neptune if you’re an astrologer.)
The Full Moon and eclipse chart for Nov. 8 is one that astrologers around the country have been looking at all year. November 8 is, of course, Election Day in the U.S. and this Full Moon occurs at 6:02 AM EST, two minutes after the polls open. What could go wrong? Plenty, if you look at this chart. (Click here to see the horoscope.)
First, let’s look at the aspects. In the Full Moon opposition we have the Sun on one end in the First House conjunct Mercury and (wider) Venus. The Moon is on the other end of the opposition conjunct Uranus in the Seventh. This entire conglomerate of planets is square Saturn in Aquarius in the Fourth House of the chart, forming a giant T-square. The tension described by this configuration is enormous and it is increased by the fact that all the planets listed are in angular houses. These energies are not going to fade into the background, They’re going to be right there in our faces.
This chart could be read as predicting events for Election Day or for the two-week lunation period after. I think it is easy to do both. Since many of the people running on the Republican side still say that the 2020 Presidential election was rigged, it is doubtful that they will accept any result in the Nov. 8 election short of total victory. That means that there will be allegations of fraud and demands for recounts all across the country and it is very likely that we won’t know who won some of these elections until after the next lunation.
But that’s just part of the problem. The other important feature of this chart is that Mars is once again square both Neptune and Jupiter. The last lunation chart with this aspect gave us one guy with a hammer. This one could bring out a lot of guys with hammers, or automatic rifles, intent on preventing Democratic witchcraft or Republican voter suppression. Violence at voting places or disruptions of vote counts are quite possible.
One of the constants of American politics is that only the most committed voters pay attention to midterm elections. That constant is likely to be shattered in this midterm election. Another surprise that this election is likely to provide is the outcome of many of the contests. Uranus is very much in play in this Full Moon chart, and when Uranus is active, expectations are overturned. Whose expectations that will be, however, is something that Uranus does not reveal. The only this that certain with Uranus is that it will be extreme and shocking.
