Mark Zuckerberg and the Cycle of Saturn

We don’t have a time of birth for Mark Zuckerberg and that limits what we can see in his horoscope. (Click on Mark Zuckerberg to see a chart done for noon on his date of birth.) However, even with a partial horoscope we can see that this is a big year for the CEO of Facebook. This is a year in which he has an important Saturn Cycle aspect.

In June 2021 Saturn made a hard, 90 degree aspect with its natal place in Zuckerberg’s horoscope. The aspect will hit again in November 2021 and January 2022. Saturn Cycle aspects typically bring us new challenges. They are also times when we are called upon to defend our past accomplishment. Saturn is the planet of judgement, the judgement of our bosses, our peers and, in some cases, Senate sub-committees.

We got a glimpse of what a Saturn Cycle judgement can look like during the testimony of Frances Haugen before Congress in early October. Haugen’s accusation against the company and Zuckerberg were damning. She not only cited examples of Facebook spreading divisive misinformation but also pointed out the devastating effect that Facebook’s messaging was having on children and adolescents.

Of course, complaint about Facebook and Zuckerberg are not new. The idea that the social network giant needs to be regulated is one of the very few notions on which there is bi-partisan agreement. And yet, nothing seems to get done and Facebook’s profits continue the rise toward the stratosphere. Also, Facebook is not just an American problem. Its reach is worldwide. It’s no coincidence that during Zuckerberg’s last Saturn Cycle aspect (in 2013) he announced a push to provide access to the internet (and Facebook) to five billion people in developing countries.

It will be interesting to see what happens with Facebook and Zuckerberg during the last two hits of this Saturn Cycle aspect. A lot of people say that some sort of regulation of Facebook is inevitable but when you’re talking about one of the richest companies in the world nothing in inevitable. A complete horoscope for Zuckerberg would tell us more, but until we get that all we are left with is astrological conjecture. And conjectures involving Saturn are almost alway negative.
