Following the Moon: May 18, 2019MoonImagePurple

Even though I got most of it wrong, the events of the past two week fits well with the chart for the May 4 New Moon. (Click here to see the article and the chart.) I predicted that the opposition of Jupiter and Mars in the Second and Eighth Houses would bring troubles involving finance. I thought that would involve the infrastructure bill that was in congress. Instead, we saw a breakdown of trade talks with China and dueling tariffs.

The same things applies to the placement of the Sun and Moon in the Seventh House which rules open enemies. I thought the open enemies would be Russia and North Korea but it turned out to be China (though North Korea did resume missile testing.) I thought that Uranus on the angle in that chart would be disruptive and, as far as the stock market is concerned, it was. However, I also said that the disruption wouldn’t have demonstrable effects, and so far it hasn’t. We’re still waiting to see how this trade war will impact our economy.

The Full Moon chart for May 18 indicates that we won’t have to wait much longer. (Click here to see the chart.) This time it’s the Sun and Moon that are opposite one another in the Second and Eighth House, so finance will be the overriding concern. Venus is conjunct Uranus in the Seventh House of relationships describes a relationship that take a sudden and unpredictable turn. That could mean a surprise return to the bargaining table by the Chinese, or they might seek to turn up the heat on the US by selling off huge amount of our country's debt that they controls.

I think that the fact that Venus and Uranus are sextile Mars is an indication that such aggressive and draconian actions will be avoided, but I’m not sure if that aspect will be enough to end this impasse. Meanwhile, Pluto, Saturn and the South Node of the Moon are all crowded near the I.C. of this chart. This is a rather ominous indicator. Together Pluto and Saturn describe fundamental change involving structure and the South Node gives in all a Karmic spin. I think that over the next two weeks the impart of this trade war are going to be felt by many in this country and the reaction is going to be extreme and negative.

The good news, such as it is, is the sextile by Neptune to both Pluto and Saturn. This would seem to release some of the pressure that comes out of these two malefic planets. However, since Neptune is the pressure release we might expect that release to take the form of empty promises and illusionary hopes. That’s hardly anything cheer about.
