Kristi Noem’s Sagittarian EdgeNoemKristiImage

Politics is a game of possibilities. Even though the smart money is definitely on Donald Trump running for President again in 2024, several prominent Republicans are currently trying to position themselves to be a possible choice if the former president should decide not to run. Matt Gatz and Marjorie Taylor Green have been conducting an “American First” road show, Rick DeSantis tried to turn his visit to the Surfside Building collapse into a “presidential moment” and Mike Pence is trying to convince the Trumpites that wanted to hang him back in January that he really not so bad. However, in terms of style, none of these possible contenders matches South Dakota governor Kristi Noem for pure, Sagittarian abandon.

Noem is remembered as the South Dakota governor whose response to the COVID-19 epidemic was, “So, why is everyone so excited?” She refused to issue any of the preventive mandates recommended by the government and when the federal government handed Noem money for COVID relief she used it to advertise South Dakota as a tourist destination. “Come for the majestic scenery. Stay because you’re in a hospital on a ventilator.”

Noem’s horoscope (click on Kristi Noem to see a chart done for noon on her date of birth) contains several indicators of independence. We can start with the Sun in Sagittarius. Sagittarian hate being told what to do. The Sun in Noem’s horoscope is in a wide conjunction with Jupiter, the planet that rules Sagittarius, an aspect that pushes that independent streak to the max. On top of this, she has the Moon in Taurus. Taurus is a conservative sign, but Taurus people are quite willing to go to extremes to defend what they see and theirs.

Baby Image 2
A Baby, Baby Boom

One of the few positive things that was expected to come out of 2020 was a bounty of babies. Trapped in their houses and apartments, it was thought that couples would have more sex and possibly more sex without birth control. The result would be a baby boom nine months later. Given that the birthrate in the US and Western Europe has long been in decline, this was seen as a good thing.

Generally, however, the experts who proposed that theory last Spring have been disappointed. The birthrate has not increased. Apparently, economic uncertainty coupled with all those great shows on Netflix messed up the equation. But one hospital in Texas that is bucking the trend. The Baylor, Scott and White All Saints Women’s Hospital in Fort Worth recorded 107 births between June 24 and June 28. I thought it might be fun to go over the astrological indicators that these infants will all share.

Following the Moon: July 9, 2021GGAMoon

I had expected that the New Moon chart for June 24 would bring us increased clarity. (Click here to see the article and the chart.) I also said that many of us wouldn’t like what was made clear. In his first speech since he left office, Donald Trump made it clear that his fantasy that he actually won the 2020 election is not going away. It is apparently going to remain a major talking point for Republicans until the next election and maybe beyond.

Unfortunately, that clarity was not universal. After a brief ray of hope that a bipartisan deal had been made on the Infrastructure Bill, Republicans in the Senate have pulled back and are now proposing a much cheaper version that is not likely to sell. Also, though much of the country seems ready to return to a pre-pandemic normal, the combination of the Delta variant and low vaccination numbers in some states continues to throw up doubts.

I also predicted the opposition between Venus in the Tenth House of the Full Moon chart and Pluto would spell trouble for some high-profile person. That “person” turned out to be the Trump businesses and the trouble was the indictment the company’s CFO. Also, the appointment of a select committee to investigate the Jan. 9 insurrection could strike an ominous note for the previous administration while accusations of “dysfunction” in Vice President Kamala Harris’ office cast a shadow over the present one.

Fourth of July Image
Looking Back at the Furious Fourth

Last week I predicted that the planetary configurations that were occurring on and around the Fourth of July were particularly worrisome. We had the long-term square between Saturn and Uranus being activeated by hard aspects from both Mars and the Moon. Thankfully, the destructive potential of these aspects didn’t show itself in any major world events, but it apparently did manifest in a whole lot of smaller tragedies.

Yesterday CNN reported that 400 incidents of gun violence occurred in the United States during the holiday weekend and that they resulted in 150 deaths. The number of wounded was not cited. No area of the country seemed to be immune. The locations of the shootings ranged from an inner city park in Cincinnati to a suburban golf course in Georgia. And the victims included all sorts of Americans.
